I was cleaning up my archives this week and there was one thing that I kept saying to myself, “Wow I shot that this year!? It seems like forever.” Going through them was a good way to take stock and reflect about the year and help me refocus my goals.
Most of the pictures I took were crap. Some were pretty decent. It was interesting to see the different twist and turns I took photographically over the year. While I did take a lot of mediocre images, there were also a lot of promising ones.
I found that 2009 was a year of growth for me. It seems like a failed over and over. But with every failure I learned something important and it has shaped my work significantly.
Above is a few of my favorite photographs of last year. Most of these I’ve posted before. Some have been sitting in my archives waiting for someone to take notice of them. These aren’t my best photographs but to me they are the most meaningful. They’ve all helped me move forward one way or another.
I can’t wait to see what new projects and ideas 2010 will bring.
