This is a pretty cool video of skateboarding filmer RB Umali showing how to use the iPhone 4 to shoot the skaters with a fisheye lens.

The people at fstoppers.com recently did a fashion photo shoot using an iPhone 3gs as their only camera. The phone only has a only a 3-megapixel sensor. It goes to show that photographer isn’t limited to their camera. Great light and the photographer’s ides are needed to take compelling images. Bad pictures have come out of even the most expensive cameras.

Matt Ford and Evan Vucci who run the Wire and Lights blog about mulitmedia journalism to kick off the NPPA Multimedia Immersion workshop, which begins this week.

Dan Chung of dslrnewsshooter.com has a very informative video with award winning photojournalist Vincent Laforte talking about the use of DSLRs for news and documentary production.

The Kings Kennel Club of California and Sequoia Kennel Club, Inc. hosted its annual dog show at the Kings Fairgrounds this past week. I have taken pictures of this several times over the years and I always enjoy watching  the dogs strut their stuff.

The OWLE BUBO, a hand held grip for the iPhone, has been reviewed by Hand Held Hollywood. It looks like pretty nifty devices if you are going to be shooting a lot of video with your iPhone.

Highway 198 between Hanford and Visalia Calif. will be expand to a four lane expressway. I shot the still photographs as well as using an iPhone to shoot the video.

Multiple Vehicles were involved in an accident on Excelsior Avenue north of Hanford on a foggy morning. I was sent out shoot still photos and video of the wreckage. It was shot entirely with an iPhone

A boy tries to motivate his frog to jump during the frog jumping contest held for the 49th Annual Corcoran Cotton Festival at John Maroot Park on Saturday, Sept. 26. The festival started with a pancake breakfast and followed by a parade down Whitley Avenue. Food booths, musical entertainment and carnival games were also held at the park.

This is one of the few weekend festivals I have done this year. My editor had asked me forgo the parade that we normally cover and go to the activities afterwards. This was fine by me. I’ve never been excited by parades. Plus, this is the first frog jumping contest I’ve ever taken pictures of. It was a great time for me and for the kids. I don’t how much the frogs enjoyed it.
